Beach in Belgrade

Just back from the lake and oh what a welcome treat that was.  We spent the majority of the day playing in the water among the locals.  Ada Ciganlija lake is a man-made lake out of the Sava river, only a short walk and bus ride (via the 511) from our hotel.  Since we knew today was going to be a steamer we rallied the troops and most of our group was off at 10 am, before the real heat showed up.  Playing in the water was so much fun - dunking contests, paddling around the lake, playing king of the paddle boat.  It seems that my years of king of the raft and summers at the lake with cousins & uncles have served me well, they were only able to get me under once J  It was really nice to take a break from everything and just cut loose with everyone.  People weren’t worried about papers, we didn’t have to be back at a certain time, and we were cool, life’s good. Not much else to report on today except that this beach was pebbled vs sand (like yesterdays) and definitely more family friendly than the one in Novi Sad.  In other all important news, we have fans!!! Hopefully they help keep the rooms a little cooler since today was over 100 F and it’ll be over 90 F the rest of the time we’re in Belgrade.
